DxO Software - New Cameras & Lenses support (16 April 2024 update)

i don’t think dxo check every pawn shop for used lens =/

DxO relies on manufacturers to provide loaners. They will not routinely ask for loaners on their own account.

While based on the 1991 film era FA, the Classic is actually a 2023 re-release of the said lens that was introduced together with a new HD-coated variant, so that buyers have a choice.

Personally, I don’t consider the Classic the most pressing item on my list, but support for the HD lenses, in particular the Fish-Eye zoom, would be great to have.

Perfect timing as today my Panasonic S5IIX arrived! Merci bien!

Hello,

Both Pentax 50mm F1.4 will be supported in September. I will look for the 35mm as well. I can’t say about the fish-eye for now.

About DJI Mavic 3 Pro support, this drone has 3 lenses, which means 3 sensors. Main Lens, Hasselblad, is the same as Mavic 3 and has identical exif information, so it is identifed as Mavic 3. The 2 other lenses are identified with no ambiguity.
Information will be added next week to camera supported page and a bit later to DxO software.

If you have kept the previous installers or have backups thereof and the installers downloaded lately have different checksums, the latest downloads contain the current versions. If you use macOS, you can check out version and build numbers fairly easily, on Win, someone else will have to advise.

DxO software versions for macOS as of July 15th, 2023

  • DFP: 6.13.0
  • DPL: 6.8.0
  • DPR: 3.4.0
  • DVP: 4.8.0
  • NikC: 6.2.0

I usually keep installers and rename them to show full version and build numbers. This helps to fall back to an older version, should it be necessary.

Now, that sounds great, Marie. Really appreciate your efforts. (As for the Fish-Eye, it’s an affordable zoom lens, with less distortion and wideangle-closeup capability at the long end, and therefore a less specialist lens than you may assume when you read “Fish-Eye”. Plus, the earlier smc-coated iteration had its own profile too.)

seem all you needed was opening the discussion and voila! =]

Well, normally, there should be enough space under the sun for users of all reasonably accessible brands. It’s just that niche brand users may now and then have to signal that they still exist, otherwise they risk getting ignored.

BTW, I firmly believe that diversity enriches photography, rather than being some sort of menace or threat that needs to be discouraged at every turn. At the end of the day, we’re all photographers or at least photo enthusiasts of various ilks, right?

Heck, if it didn’t kill the design aesthetics, I would happily tape up the brand plate on my camera - not because I don’t take pride in what I shoot (quite the opposite, really), but to avoid having to constantly explain my choices to shooters of bigger brands (don’t mean you, Mike; most Nikonians that I have met seem to kinda dig Pentax, maybe because pro-grade Nikons are built like tanks too, or because Pentax used to be a household name in the film days). Real photographers usually understand that great photographs don’t depend on the brand that was used, while photographers produce their best work with the sort of gear that compels them enough to go out and actually take photos in the first place.

doesn’t matter to me what people shoot with, it’s all about what make you happy and if it fulfill your needs. no brand has it all IMO, there’s always something missing that you’d like but they are only on another brand of camera =]

Hello, on June 7th the Sigma 20mm F2 DG DN | C for L-mount was announced for September. Now it is no more listed für September. Is there a chance that it will be supported this Year?

Further more I would give a vote for the Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG DN OS for L-Mount.

Greetings
Michael

Hello,

we plan to support all Sigma lenses but we also depend on loans from Sigma. So, I can’t give an estimate date for what we don’t have yet. But don’t worry, they will all be supported.

Marie

It seems most new Voigtlander lens aren’t supported on the Sony FE system,
for example the highly rated
APO-LANTHAR 50mm F2 Aspherical
is missing.

Would you consider adding it?
It’s a fun manual lens to use, and it does have electronic contact for communicating with the camera for supplying EXIF information.

I have three Voigtlander lenses for the Nikon Z mount including the D23mm f/1,2 Nokton, the D35 f/1.2 Nokton, and the 40mm f/1.2 Nokton. I brought this subject up a while back, but I don’t expect these manual focus lenses to be added anytime soon, if ever,

Hello,

we plan to add support for Voigtlander lenses, starting this Autumn, but, as for any other lenses, we can do it only if Exif is transmitted.
If only focusing distance is missing it’s not a problem but if don’t have lensInformation, current focal length and current FNumber it’s just impossible to know what lens is used and what correction to apply.

I feel that it’s hight time for DxO to introduce a manual override tool. On that is present at all times…because automatic recognition is not quite spotless.

a lot of high times… including finally giving users options to use optics correction embedded in raw files if they wish to use that ( that will also address missing optics modules )

That is great to hear. Voigtländer now makes a number of lenses with electronic contacts to transfer EXIF data for Nikon Z, Fuji X, Sony E, and Canon R mounts. They recently even released one for the Nikon F mount. That’s a lot of lenses and mounts to consider so I don’t expect that my three on the Nikon Z mount will be supported any time soon. But at least now I have some hope.

Any plan for the Laowa 6mm f2.0 in Micro Four Thirds mount? It has electronic contacts so a Lens Profile is possible. Thanks in advance.

I would love to see TTArtisan’s first autofocus crop sensor lens added to the database. It is the 27mm f/2.8 which is available for the Nikon Z mount, the Fuji X mount and the Sony E mount. I use mine on my Nikon Z fc. This tiny and inexpensive crop sensor lens has gotten great reviews and is considered a bargain at its price of $160 USD. It is the first TTArtisan lens with electronic contacts. I have already requested it in the support database.
