When exporting to dng, the mosaic pattern disappears

Intrigued to know why images exported to dng increase their size by about 1.5x for X-Trans and about 4x for Bayer, I have decided to analyze them in RawDigger and I have found that in the RAW images the mosaic pattern is visible, while in the dng images processed by PhotoLab (as well as those processed in Adobe with “enhanced details”) there is no trace of such pattern and each pixel has already assigned a specific color. I would like to know what advantage it has in terms of quality of development, apart from the obvious one of being able to be visualized in the same way in any other program since they only need to be read, not interpreted.
