Smart-Lighting Enhancement Request: Facilitate Uniform vs Spot-Weighted comparison

No, not the same setting at all. Just checked a set – where I used Smart Lighting, the setting varied between 24 and 77 with all kinds of variation in between. Lots at 32 and quite a few at 50.

I slide the slider back and forth until I find a setting I like. If I don’t like what I see in the slider, I’ll move or resize my target boxes. If I still don’t like the effect, I’ll give up on Smart Lighting and move on to Local Adjustments.

i almost never change the 25% and almost always use spot weighted methode.
it’s default on spotweighted 25% and tool off.
when do i use SL?
to enlarge dynamic range, it’s squeezing image dynamic range inside the adobedRGB colorspace but who care’s
to light up a face in the shadow without turn overal exposure up.
to pulldown highlight a bit without using toneselective sliders.
to balance the contrast a bit by placing boxes in high and low sections.

i never go higher then 25% because a HDR look and artefacts are just around the corner.
it is just one of the building blocks.
That’s why i not really care about a direct comparison window, if i don’t like the outcome i just turn it off again and find an other solution.

(then again i want to create a full blown HDR color and B&W look preset one day like those from pixelmania(?) just for fun.
