How do I do scaling/resizing large image files in PL2? Like going from 42mp to 24mp (example)? Is there an easy and quick way to do that? Maybe someone can guide me step by step?

PhotoLab can resize when exporting. Usually basing it on pixel size is worth more than by file size.
Simply create an export setting with a fixed size of 6000x4000 for example and you will have a 24MP image.
Set file type and compression to your needs accordingly.
