I have just installed the latest update to version 6.1 (Build 74) and now the program hangs at the splash screen and never completes loading.

Sometimes a download gets corrupted somewhere along the way. I had this happen a couple of years ago with an update. What I did was to completely remove the installation using Revo Uninstaller(it’s free). Then I redownloaded the PL installer and reinstalled. This may not work for your problem but can’t hurt and is worth a try.

In the end having waited an inordinate amount of time the program loaded.
I have loaded it again this morning, and it did so with no problems.
