I have a MacBook Pro 15" from 2017 (GPU is a Radeon Pro 560) and the speed of processing in PureRAW 2 compared PureRAW 1 is not better at all, I even have the impression it’s slightly slower (but I have not benchmarked it, so it’s just an impression). This is on macOS 12.
I monitor the GPU utilization and PureRAW 2 is clearly single threaded, I can see GPU utilisation go to 100%, then down to almost zero, then again up to 100%, and so on. Each spike corresponds to one image being processed.
Processing two images in parallel would definitely better utilize the GPU, there wouldn’t be all this idling between two images…
