What happened? I applied a u-point and this magenta mask appeared.
I think that you created some blown highlights by increasing the exposure. In your histogramm you selected to have these blown highlights displayed. This could be the meaning of the magenta area.

I’ve been playing with this for an hour and can’t replicate the magenta mask. However, I suspect you’re correct about clipping.

You’ve got your Highlights/Shadow clipping on and this is the result of it. Switch off this option and you won’t see the clipping anymore 
P.S. Remember that you should switch them off when the LC is closed.
