Lens sharpness

I am new to Photolab 3 .

I am going through a tutorial and it mentions that lens sharpening is a very important feature

The lens sharpening tab is not available to me ( not visible)

My camera and lens combination are visible in the file data and are downloaded.

A post in July indicates the lens module is not visible if not needed.

Is this statement accurate? It would seem one should be able to turn on the feature and tweak as desired

Thanks

In Customize, click on one of the palette tabs (on the right side of the tab), like Detail, then chose what you want to include in that palette.

Hello @iamimdoc,

In case you are on Windows you can find this correction in Detail palette:

PhotoLab_2020-02-04_10-30-31

But, be careful - it appears only if the lens module is downloaded.

Should I see the Lens sharpness tab?

Thanks for help

Hello once again,

By the data in Metadata tab I see that the lens is not assigned and I suppose you can have a module ambiguity for this image (when several lenses are supported) and a yellow icon like this:

2020-02-04_15-10-21

When you click on the icon and select the proper lens -> you’ll get Lens sharpness sub-palette.

Waiting for your reply if my guess is correct.

Hello Robert,
have you checked that you have “ticked” Lens Sharpness for this palette? In the “Detail” palette, click on the little downward arrow to the right of the word “Detail”, make sure Lens Sharpness is ticked.

Your “guess” was spot on.

In retrospect, I should have looked at the “ambiguity” icon. Pretty subtle, but obvious when you know what you are looking for.

Thank you for your help.
