Black and White without FilmPack

I have the full Elite version and use FilmPack for B&W conversion but I have to teach those who have not got, and don’t want to buy, FilmPack.

What is the most effective way to get good B&W conversions for them?

You could use the old version of NIK Plugins when it was Google. They are still free to own.

They are not as good as the updated versions produced by DxO, but they are free and do contain Silver Efex Pro. DxO offer the possibility of downloading these - see the link below.

They can be used with Photoshop and Affinity, or as simple stand alone apps.

A disregarded solution is playing with White Balance cursors AFTER the B&W conversion.
