if I choose a “Portrait preset” it would be nice if DXO Smart lighting automatically picks “Spot weighted”

I agree. I rarely use this preset so I didn’t notice. It seems like the built-in presets are partial and don’t change Smart Lighting at all.
It is super easy to create your own preset with that one difference compared to the existing one.
Actually, my default preset is the default from DxO but with Smart Lighting Spot Weighted enabled all the time. If it doesn’t find a face it behaves exactly like the uniform setting.
