Starting PL2 before any other application

I remember seeing some time ago advice to always use Optics Pro before opening the images with any other application. i would like to open my raw files first with ACDSee Pro 8 to select images to keep then process them with PL2

My question is would this lead to any problems?

That advice applies only to tools that might modify/change the original image, David.
If the tool you’re using is simply reading/displaying the image then you won’t have any problems.

I use a DAM software to key word etc… and do not have any problems with PL

Thank you both for this information. I just carried out a test using using about 100 RAW files starting with the RAW in the management section of ACDSee. This made the process much easier than working the other way around.
