Imaging a fresh install of OS/apps should be SOP for all Windows users. I hate hate hate configuring a new OS install so I began doing this many years ago, first with Ghost and later switching to Macrium. I have to say though that I’ve not needed to employ a Day One rollback since the Win 9x days. I make frequent periodic images for insurance just in case something goes sideways (like a Windows or Topaz update) because users are sometimes given the role of beta testers whether they signed up to be or not.

I agree. As I said up above. While I acknowledge the intent of the thread, I have been making back ups for years… Acronis, Macrium, Time Machine, Redo Windows Back Up, CloneZilla… so many choices and all put you in control.
