This is not so much a need but an idea.
I can only talk for macOS so don’t know how feasible this would be for Windows.
How about, when you use Quicklook (tap spacebar on a file in Finder), a Quicklook plugin can show a pane, which shows the associated RAW file rendered with the edits applied? In the case of multiple versions in the same .dop file, Quicklook can provide for a multiple display.
