The following findings are taken from a Mac installation.
Perspective Efex:
- Cannot send results back to AP
- PROPOSAL: With an additional “save as copy” option, we could use it nevertheless
All other plug-ins
- User account has admin rights: Plug-ins work as expected
- User account is non-admin: Viveza and Silver Efex do not work, the others work
Affinity Photo settings
I tested both user accounts with AP settings that use the plug-ins from
- /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins
- /Applications/Affinity/Plug-Ins
Update and good news
Trying to get Nik 4 (Viveza and SFX) to work on the non-admin user, I tried to install Nik 4 from the non-admin user…
- started the installer, which told me to remove the “old” installation
- started the uninstaller, it did what it did (have not searched for leftovers
- started the installer and let it finish
As a result, Viveza and SFX now work on both users
when I set AP to get the plugins from /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins
Note: If the NIK installer were multi-user aware, we’d not have to walk these twisted paths (but I start to repeat myself)
