@DxOStaffPO, FYI, believe there is a spelling error on the last bullet on this page, Linear-DNG - DxO. Believe it should be splitting, not spitting. :wink: BTW, nice explanation. I learned several things–thanks.

There 's another typo on the next line: “electing the best tool” should be “selecting the best tool”.

Thank you, David. I think I will use this in my workflow in lieu of exporting 16 bit TIFFs.
