Install of PL5 on Public Beta of macOS Monterey works – application start fails

I have tried it two times now: The release version of PhotoLab 5 crashes hard each time I try to start it.
After the first time I have removed all (as far as I could find them) traces of PL5 in my Library and the System folders. Reboot, fresh install of PL5 – no avail. Application crashes on trying to open main window. On first attempt it asked to install the Lightroom plugin. I’ve allowed that.

PB release is 12.0.1 (21A558). PL5 was downloaded on October 21, 2021 at 8 am.

No such issue here with DPL5 (trial) on macOS build 21A559 booted from an external SSD with iMac 2019.

May I ask, is this version the so called release candidate 2 (RC2) ?

Yes. Get it through mrmacintosh.com

Or wait a few days to get the official release…

Thanks, I was just curious about the version.
This winter I will setup my Mac from scratch, switching from Catalina to Monterey.

Not for me:

Could you please attach the full crash log (and you can attach it as a file)? Just the beginning of it won’t be of much use.

Unfortunately, it looks like an exception so the crash log is not enough either. Could you please run the following script and then send me the generated package in a private message (it may contain configuration info and logs, so you wouldn’t want to post that publicly)?

Thanks!

Thank you, I just got the files. We have actually already fixed this, and the fix should be released very soon has just been released. So once you can update, it should be good!
