FilmPack filter set doesn't work with a DCP profile in PhotoLab 2

Hello. Recently, I’ve started using DCP profiles for my Olympus E-M1 Mark II camera. I use the ones from Adobe Camera Raw, imported into PhotoLab’s Color rendering module. (e.g., Category: DCP profile / Rendering: Olympus E-M1 Mark II Camera Natural.dcp) I’ve just discovered that when I do this, the FilmPack 5 “Filter” module has no effect. Style - Toning, the Channel mixer, Creative vignetting, and other FIlmPack modules in PhotoLab 2 that I’ve tried still work. I’m at a loss here. Is this a bug?

To be clear: as soon as I turn off Color rendering or set it to something else like Generic, the Filter I’ve selected takes effect. Turn on the DCP profile again and the filter has no effect.

Hello Greg!

Thank you for the report. We’ll do an investigation.

Regards,
Svetlana G.

I can confirm that one limitation of using DCP profiles in Photolab2 is that you can’t combine them with the Filter module to add colouring tints (e.g. cooling or warming). But I can use Style toning together with a DCP input profile.

Another limitation is the Black Level Subtraction bug.

Hi,

How is the investigation going? It is still not possible to apply a colour filter to a DCP profiled image.

please see here …

Thank you Wolfgang. The post explaining that absolute paths for DCP profiles are written into DOP files was useful additional information.

Elsewhere, DxO have said they will revise Olympus colour rendering. If it happens, I can drop using DCP.
